2009/2010 Brussels experienced a strong winter.

Many Belgian beekeepers complain colony losses.
2 of my 3 colonies did not survive.
My bees did not show signs of a disease, but look rather
as if they died in the act -

The assumption of the winter having been too harsh and cold and
having caused the unexpected death is not backed by experience.
Usually, bees can endure cold winters rather than humid and windy situations.

Further investigations on the possible reasons are being undertaken.
